[GitHub] Ajax.InPlaceEditor - scriptaculous - GitHub: I just added inplace editor inside a sortable list array. I can drag and after, the editor appears, but ideally I would not want that to happen and instead activate the editor specifically, not as a result of dragging my list items.
[David Chelimsky] David Chelimsky » Blog Archive » RSpec-2 Documentation: PLEASE NOTE: github wikis can be updated by anybody with a github account, and I don’t get any notification when wiki pages have changed. Most of the time, users add valuable information, but the structure is poor and always in flux, and there have been occasions in which the information was either misleading or simply inaccurate.
[Arantius.com] Rants - GitHub Sucks - Arantius.com: Some kind of issue tracking is important, because I want users to be able to report problems (Trac is great in this regard, anyone can report problems with one web form, and no account setup or anything else), and especially I want to be able to track and manage them — which are important, which will be fixed for version X, which is user Y already working on, etc.
[The GitHub Blog] Introducing Organizations - GitHub: Could we get our github notifications to be filtered by what context we have switched to? As a Greasemonkey maintainer that reads all the volumes of stuff that comes in that way via email, my account has 276 unread notifications on the site that probably never will get any attention.
[Dr Nic] Dr Nic's Migrating project websites to github pages with sake ...: Not only does it decouple the version of the website from that of the rest of the project, but it misrepresents the intent of a branch. For instance, consider if someone created an automated tool that reported on the differences between all the branches and the current master, the gh_pages branch would require special exception, in this case just to satisfy GitHub.
[David Chelimsky] David Chelimsky » Blog Archive » RSpec at github: <p>I don’t think that I’ll be able to refrain from comments about trendy git-hype, or unfavorable feature/usability comparisons to bzr or darcs… but hey, for a vibrant open source project any <span class="caps">DVCS</span>
[CommunityWiki: RecentChanges] CommunityWiki: Alexandre Dulaunoy: I tried to merge to different (having different but also common pages) wikis using git and it worked quite well. Maybe we should come with a different merge strategy for wiki pages but the current merge strategies (especially the recursive) worked very well and it even found update between the wikis that I haven’t seen manually.
[Cory Doctorow's craphound.com] Cory Doctorow's craphound.com >> Blog Archive » Flashbake: Free ...: In response to conversations with Doctorow, programmer Thomas Gideon cooked up Flashbake, a simplified interface to Git that runs in the background and commits versions quietly as Doctorow writes, no intervention required. (Here’s the whole story of Flashbake in Cory’s words.) [...]
[Instiki: Timeline] parasew's instiki at master - GitHub: Install Instiki 0.11 and check that it works (you should be able to create a web, edit and save a HomePage)2. Execute ruby script\import_storage \ -t /full/path/to/instiki0.10/storage \ -i /full/path/to/instiki0.10/installation \ -d sqlite (or mysql, or postgres, depending on what you use) \ -o instiki_import.sql for example (Windows): ruby script\import_storage -t c:\instiki-0.10.2\storage\2500 -i c:\instiki-0.10.2 -d sqlite -o instiki_import.sql3.
[BlackBox] BlackBox » Blog Archive » Git, Mercurial, or Bazaar?: Of the three, I prefer Mercurial over Git or Bazaar, though I think any one of the 3 is preferable to SVN. I think that for developers coming from subversion (who often don't fully understand the full set of commands available there) that it has the best balance of speed, ease of learning, and power of the 3 systems.
