[Joystiq] Metareview: Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure (Wii): Gamespot (85/100): "Zack & Wiki is one of those sink-or-swim kind of games, the sort of thing that is conceptually so offbeat that if the execution isn't spot-on, the whole thing could drown. ...
[Television Tropes & Idioms - Recent Changes] Gushing About Shows You Like - Television Tropes & Idioms: He's particularly fond of the strips around the late 80's/early 90's, but regardless, there's no real Garfield strip he honestly dislikes. Garfield strips are a big part of what taught him how to read (and made him love it), bolstered his vocabulary, sparked his interest in drawing, and actually, to a point, taught him to be happy with who he is—
[Rough Type: Nicholas Carr's Blog] Rough Type: Nicholas Carr's Blog: The death of Wikipedia: I can imagine a Wikipedia with "frozen" versions of articles -- the versions that achieve the highest reputation (due to voting and/or due to the reputations of their contributors, weighted so that most recent contributors give the greatest contribution to the article's reputation)-- being made available first, or alongside the current version. What version is displayed initially could possibly be determined according to the preferences of the reader, so someone looking for the information most likely to be neutral, well-written and well-reviewed could get that first;
[Whatanews4u.Sports] BBC - BBC Internet Blog: MOTs: Putting h2g2 through its paces: No, it's not widely-known or accepted as the reliable and entertaining source of information it is - in part because other parts of the BBC prefer to link to external sites (or don't even bother looking on h2g2? Perhaps the fault of the bad search engine...) to explain things, and in part because of another technical issue: the nofollow tags mean that cross-links aren't visible to search engines, so h2g2 Entries come up low in the search rankings.

[Cynical-C Blog] Cynical-C Blog: August 2005 Archives: Bush flashes the bird, something aides say he does often and has been doing since his days as governor of Texas.Bush, administration aides confide, frequently explodes into tirades over those who protest the war, calling them motherfucking traitors. He reportedly was so upset over Veterans of Foreign Wars members who wore bullshit protectors over their ears during his speech to their annual convention that he told aides to tell those VFW assholes that Ill never speak to them again is they cant keep their members under control.
[Radio Open Source] Radio Open Source » Blog Archive » Pitch a Show: 3/1/07: Mental illnesses are all of a piece in the sense that a person who suffers from mild depression could, but for luck or the grace of God, instead be suffering from schizophrenia or bipolar disorder or another debilitating illness. Distilling the individual illnesses out from one another and dealing with them only individually undermines our ability to take on mental illness the way we need to, because it lets us say to the (mildly or moderately) depressed, ââ¬ÅChin up, get through it, itââ¬âs not so bad,â⬠and lets us dismiss the schizophrenic as some kind of crazy case of ââ¬Åit could never be me.â⬠When we look at it all together, though, weââ¬âre more prone to recognizing both (1) that the depressive may well really need treatment, and doesnââ¬ât have to suffer (as many depressives believe is just their lot in life) and (2) that the more seriously afflicted could indeed one day be us, through no fault of their own (Potter could have suffered her sisterââ¬âs fate, and s could we all).
