D’Arcy Norman Dot Nethttp://www.darcynorman.net [ D’Arcy Norman Dot Net] The U of C Wiki was just hit by a moron who took 20 minutes to make 114 edits. It took me about 20 minutes to undo all of this clown’s links to whatever it was he’s trying to link to (using CSS to hide the links).

D’Arcy Norman Dot Nethttp://www.darcynorman.net  D’Arcy Norman Dot Net: Update: slightly corrected (although incompletely) the “how many dinosaurs are in a tank of gas” thing - although I like the ring of that, so I left a bit of it in Michelle Lamberson, who was a geologist in a previous life, let me know that petroleum comes mostly from marine biomass (algae…) rather than dinosaurs. Planet Access: Overnight though Murphy played a visit and we kept getting an error on Sherri's machine that it didn't have enough VRAM to push to the LCD projector. The only variable was that we had changed the template.  (via Cosmos)

Simon.incutio.comhttp://simon.incutio.com [Simon.incutio.com] Simon Willison: CSS-Discuss Wiki Spam: In a way this really decreases the general innocence of the web as a whole, and the fight for wiki's, blog comments, and ANY way that a person could post data to a web site now has to become a battleground in the same way Email has long since been. Luckily, it seems like Captcha-type systems are a pretty good solution...for now.
