[All The Modern Things] I was working busily this week on writing a monthly activity report for Wikimedia Australia. This is an idea that came out of a May 2008 chapters meeting in the Netherlands (which WMAU did not attend).

[Copyrighteous] BY-SA has become the GPL of the free culture world and Wikimedia wikis were basically locked out from sharing with a larger community, and vice-versa; projects will no longer have to choose between sharing with Wikipedia and sharing .

Wikimedia chooses Ubuntu for all of its servers | Ubuntu

Information Policy: Wikimedia launches worldwide survey

[Information Policy] The Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization behind Wikipedia and UNU-MERIT (United Nations University - Maastricht Economic and Social Research and Training Center) last week launched a worldwide survey in an effort to understand who the readers and contributors of Wikipedia are, why they come to Wikipedia, and how they use it. The survey is being conducted in 20 languages and has so far resulted in more then 100,000 submitted questionnaires.
