Wikis or Blogs - Which One Should I Choose? | LIBR 246-11
[LIBR 246-11 - A Web 2.0 learning community] So, to sum it all up, a wiki, especially in a library or information center, is more useful than a blog when it is something that requires collaboration from many people. P2P Foundation » Blog Archive » Peer Governance and Wikipedia ...
[P2P Foundation] And that, I would argue, is a result of what Wikipedia fundamentally is: its not a controlled, even controllable, well-organised mechanism for developing a reliable knowledge base that asymptotically approaches perfection through careful editorial quality control processes (as encyclopaedias of the traditional type may once have claimed to be), but something much more unruly - a sometimes messy, self-organising, continuously unfinished collaborative process that relies not on hierarchical structures, but on the wisdom of crowds for its quality control processes.
